Zendou is the name of the jujutsu school created by Sensei Helder Balão. Zendou means path of virtue and rigor and represents the romanized form
of the kanjis 善 道.
- Zen (善) means good, virtue.
- Dou (道) means the path, knowledge.
It is on those principles that Sensei Helder Balão jujutsu's school is based, where all students, while sharing a common goal, will rigorously follow their own path to achieve it, always prioritizing the benefit of all.
Preserving the teachings and rituals of the Samurai, the school intends to adapt the Jujutsu culture the today's reality, with special emphasis on techniques of self defense. Jujutsu also represents a way of life, where mutual respect between students and teachers, spirit of sacrifice, emotional control are some of its key attributes.
Hope to you you soon on our Dojo, to follow your own path supervised by Sensei Helder and "trip" colleagues.

Jujutsu is a Japanese martial art of body to body combat. This art was notable and developed by the samurai and as the name implies, the goal is not to use force to bring down the opponent. Jujutsu has in modern times become a self-defense martial art, still using all the knowledges of the Samurai.
This martial art includes techniques with strikes, joint locks, Throws, Grappling, Strangulation and use of weapons.
Competition is a way of giving more practicality to the art, yet introducing some rules to protect its competitors. The school already has numerous national champions and international championship participations with outstanding results.
The team is all of us, and we are above all a family.
Each one within this team contributes their own way to the growth of the team and the school.
